I just tested setting the mailport=587 (which is a valid port on my email
server as well) and it worked as expected. I tested this on TS 7.0.4, but all
versions >= 6.0.3 should work.

I’m not able to test on Witango 5.x, but it mailport= setting is present in
these versions. Perhaps there was a communication error.

Robert,

By using the normal Mail action (not @EMAILSESSION), I set the MAILPORT=587
instead of MAILPORT=25, the Mail action gave me an internal error. Does the ini
setting support port 587?

MC,

Yes, the server= attribute of the @EMAILSESSION will override the
system$mailserver (aka server.ini MAILSERVER=) setting.

Robert,

By setting the @EMAILSESSION with COMMAND="OPEN" PROTOCAOL="SMTP" PORT="587"
SERVER="whatever.mailserver.com", will it ignore using the MAILSERVER= in the
witango.ini?

I'm still working on the <@EMAIL> tag part. Not easy indeed.

MC,

These are tricky tags to use. You would find it much easier to use a version of
TeraScript that supports the connection tab on the mail action.

The basic idea of @EMAILSESSION is to call it once with command=open to create
a connection, once with command=send to send an email and finally with
command=close. Set the sessionid to the same value for each call. The open
command needs the server, username, password, and protocol=smtp set, while the
close command needs the mode=commit set.

The send command takes an email, which is created with the @EMAIL tag. The
easiest way to do this is to type out an email, following the proper syntax as
defined in RFC 2822 and use the command=import to parse it. Alternatively you
can build an email piece by piece by repeated calling command=addfield with
fields and their values.

Hi Robert,

Do you have a taf sample file of using @EMIALSESSION and @EMAIL tags

that you can share? I tried using them and it didn't work.

Thanks!
