I see from this page that the power measurements were done 
with Processor Turbo Mode disabled in BIOS.  Have we ever 
tried disabling turbo mode while running SPECpower over 
Solaris on Nehalem-based system?

I haven't found any info about Dell Active Power Controller 
via googling or visiting the Dell website.  How did you know 
this is a BIOS based facility?  Do you have any pointers to 
more info?

Is Dell Power Controller the equivalent of HP Power 
Regulator -- where BIOS is doing continuous adjustment of 
pstates based on utilization?  This would presumably 
interfere with the OS trying to do the same thing...
