In talking with Eric, I suggested that we should also consider a
power
management provider for these probes. The provider would allow
observability for a variety of PM related facilities, not just cpupm.
It would also go well with suspend/resume probes I have been
considering, as well as probes for io device power management (disk
spin-down, etc.).
As it appeared that Eric also thought this was a good idea, it would
be
good to start considering what a generic provider API would look like.
As a side note, I also suggested that the taxonomy stability for
these
probes would initially be "Volatile", but could be promoted as we
identify probes that are genuinely useful.
