Summary: Cause for wakeups don't provide the "best" information
    Classification: Development
           Product: power-mgmt
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: ANY/Generic
        OS/Version: OpenSolaris
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: powertop
        AssignedTo: rafael.vanoni at sun.com

The causes for wakeups reported by PowerTOP don't always provide the most
useful information. The easiest example of this can be seen if a disk is
hammered with reads (I used dd(1) to test this) the cause for wakeups reported
by PowerTOP was the disk nexus driver (aac(7D)) as opposed to the leaf driver
(sd(7D)). This is confusing and can be a disservice to the user because the
reason for increased activity isn't really the bus, but the disk. For power
management purposes, it'd be far more helpful if the user could see the sd,
ssd, etc. driver because then the user could go make changes as appropriate.
