exiting without a error message means normaly that you don't have the
english language file, to be sure look for the tesseract.log
but your project directory should look like
project.exe
tessdll.dll
tessdata --------- eng.DangAmbigs
|- eng.freq-dawg
|- eng.inttemp
|- eng.normproto
|- eng.pffmtable
|- eng.unicharset
|- eng.user-words
- eng.word-dawg
