Can someone try test.tif [Files] and let me know if tesseract will turn it to readable text? My output is bad.
But... I tried eng_problem.tif [Files] and tesseract produced excellent output! Is it my xsane interface that isn't producing a proper tiff? I tried scaling the tiff image in gimp; I think I might have tried a little Imagemagick on it, too; to try to get a tesseract readable tiff. Maybe I need to run test.tiff through Imagemagick "convert test.tif test.tif" with some options; I don't know. Let me know if you have any ideas!
