Hi, I've been searching on Google and on this group about converting an image properly for Tesseract but haven't found anything that really works. I also read the FAQ and nothing...
Like many people complains, using PIL or convert from ImageMagick to convert an image to TIFF won't let me use Tesseract properly. That is, Tesseract does read the image but the output is not quite what's supposed to be. I know this could be my problem, not Tesseract's but the thing is, if I convert image1.png to image1.tiff either from PIL or ImageMagick, Tesseract won't read it properly BUT if I convert image1.png to image1.pbm and image1.pbm to image1.tif than it WORKS! Can anyone tell me what's happening and how can I do it directly from the png without having to convert to a pbm? Thanks. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "tesseract-ocr" group.
