Thank you Debayan for your reply in regard to handwriting recognition. Like I said, I don't now much about programming, but I'll have a look at the link you sent me. I have Ununtu on a memory stick, otherwise I use xp. I suppose I can try this using the Ubuntu installation. take care,alleykat
