Meaning what? Where does one set the locale in tesseract?

You'll find something similar from me, earlier, on Debian.
The maintainer is informed, and promised to look into the matter.

Same here. I have fed a-z to it, any size Times New Roman, any
resolution, any Verdana likewise, will result in characters not
recognised. 12 seems optimal here, 14 gets worse, 16 is out of
question. This bugs me as well. The only alphabet recognised without
error is Courier upper case, 10.5 and 12.
