I have successfully installed Tesseract through MacPorts along with Italian language package. Tesseract seems to work properly, but when I open the output file I can't read it as it is full of strange characters and meaningless words: it seems that there is something wrong with the character set.
The TIFF image that I try to read has been exported using Photoshop CS4. I really don't know what to do..
