Svaram, VietOCR already includes several of the features you mentioned. Please allow me to address each of your questions:
1. Both JAI Image I/O library and .NET Framework support only a number of image formats. Hence, including all possible image formats would not make sense, unless you meant grouping all supportable formats under one single "All Image Files" filter. 2. Yes, the error messages are too generic, and misleading sometimes. I do not have all the possible error (or exit) codes of Tesseract engine and their descriptions. If someone could help provide or show me exactly where to get them, I certainly would be glad to add them in the program. That way, it would help reduce the misunderstanding. 3. It already provides an indication label in the statusbar at the bottom and the "wait" cursor; but I just added a progressbar for more animation in the latest release v0.9.13. 4. It already supports selection of a single region (but not multiple). Upcoming Tesseract 3.00 will probably include support for page layout analysis, so you may want to wait for that. 5. I would recommend using other image editors/tools for general image pre-processing purposes. 6. You can use the scrollbars of the picturebox to scroll part of the image into visible view.
