I think the current svn trunk is borked. But you could get past the _first_ hurdle you mention by: cd $YOUR_PATH_TO_SVN_TREE/ccmain cp tessedit.cpp tesseractmain.cpp # at some point I presume there was a filename change cd .. ./configure Then, perhaps, like me, you will come up against: ... config.status: error: cannot find input file: pageseg/Makefile.in at which point I decided to wait another few months before trying to compile tesseract from svn.
