Hello guys,

I’m trying to use Tesseract on images taken with a hand held cellular
camera. When the picture is taken with a less than perfect ligthing,
the images are often blured (I assume this is caused by longer
exposure time and shaky hands) and recognition accuracy drops very
badly.

Is there any pre-proccessing I could do on the image before passing it
to Tesseract? Sharpening filter? I need something light that would
could be run easely on smart phone.

The images are usually snapshots from magazines text columns and then
cropped to include only the text. Also, images are RGB and passed
directly to TessBaseAPI::TesseractRect()

Thanks!
