Somewhat like GalaxyZoo.org, AncientWords.net is a project aimed to crowd-source the efforts of many to create the data infrastructure needed to enable augmented reality overlay translations of King Tut's tomb and treasures.
Custom modifications are needed to tesseract to assist end-users with the effort of sorting through the 7,000 known Egyptian hieroglyphs. (Only 1,000 are used with any frequency, and 40 are used almost always.) The dictionary of glyphs can be browsed on the site today using Chrome or iPad. How well suited might tesseract be for this variety of codes? (It only needs to narrow the list - not offer a perfect match.) Is there anyone in the tesseract community who might be interested or available to pursue such an effort? Thanks!
