ugh i think google groups ate my message again. I downgraded to version 580 svn checkout -r 580 http://tesseract-ocr.googlecode.com/^Cn/trunk tesseract-ocr-580 and installed it then i ran tesseract ~/junk/upsidedown.tif blah -l eng -psm 1 tesseract ~/junk/rightsideup.tif blah -l eng -psm 1
