Given that you run Tesseract when the current directory is "C:\DIR\", language files are searched in the following order: - "tessdata" subdirectory in "C:\DIR\" - "tessdata" subdirectory in the directory indicated by the "TESSDATA_PREFIX" environment variable. By default it points to "C:\Program Files\Tesseract-OCR\"
