This question is asked in the FAQ, but the answer seems to be out of date "Try upping NON_WERD and GARBAGE_STRING in dict/permute.cpp to maybe 3 or even 5.... you could also try lowering ClassPrunerThreshold in classify/intmatcher.cpp to about 200 from 229."
As best I can tell, none of these variables exist in the Tesseract 3.01 source. I also looked through the various _VAR_H variables but did not see anything that is obviously appropriate.
