Hey Guys, I looked around the forum and googled a bit and didn't see anyone discussing this so please forgive me if this has already been answered.
I am working on a small project to digitize some records. I have been experimenting with tesseract and think it would be the answer to my needs. I need to create some sort of template for the documents that I am scanning in and have tesseract export the data from specific locations (I could pass pixels or something along those lines) on the scanned form then output the data in a CSV format. Ex: Form has customer First Name, Last Name, Date of Service, and a List of Items with Quantity and Price. Is there a way I could get tesseract to output a CSV file in the following format: last name, first name, date of service, item id, item desc, quantity, price last name, first name, date of service, item id, item desc, quantity, price last name, first name, date of service, item id, item desc, quantity, price This is the first document I would need to do, but there ate about 3 others I would like to do as well in the future. I may be way over my head for this one. If tesseract doesn't have the capability built in does anyone know of a way I could make this happen? It would save me 100's of hours and I would be very grateful. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "tesseract-ocr" group.
