Dear Mike, I have same problem. With
baseApi.init(DATA_PATH, lang, TessBaseAPI.OEM_CUBE_ONLY); my program will be crash. but without this TessBaseAPI.OEM_CUBE_ONLY as baseApi.init(DATA_PATH, lang); run fine.
