Hello!

I have a question about the -PSM 0 option with Tesseract. I have 3.01
running in both Windows and Ubuntu Linux and both are successfully OCR'ing
images to output files. I am attempting to use the Orientation and script
detection (OSD) only option (-PSM 0) but my output text files are always
blank. After doing a lot of searching on this forum and the net in
general, it seems that many people are observing similar behavior. Here
are some questions that I have regarding it's usage:

   1. Does anyone know what this option is supposed to do?
   2. Is it used to detect page orientation, or am I misunderstanding it's
use and attempting to make it do something that it wasn't built for?
   3. If it is for page orientation detection, how do I get it to output
some sort of value to let me know if Tesseract has determined what the page
   orientation is?

I know that something is working with OSD due to the fact that when I use -
PSM 1 on an image that has been rotated 180 degrees, the engine
successfully detects the rotation and the output text is correct after
processing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
