I'm actually having the same problem right now. I must admit I don't have any code yet, mostly I've been reading this forum and StackOverflow to try and find out how to get the confidence levels for each character (i.e. different confidences for characters in the same word).
So far I've seen suggestions on this forum to use TesseractExtractResult, but when I tried to test it, I couldn't figure out how to pass a valid PAGE_RES iterator to it. TessBaseAPI::GetPageRes() returns a const PAGE_RES, while TesseractExtractResult expects a non-const pointer. I also saw an old post saying that while the per-character confidence levels are not available from the API, they would become available in Tesseract 3.0. Since I'm using Tesseract 3.01, does that mean I can get them from the API somehow now?
