I am using free ocr version 5.41(March 2015) works fine for me in Vista OS for kan.traineddata file.. I renamed existing tesseract.exe in the FreeOCR as "tesseract.exe-Old" added folder containing teseract-ocr 3.04.(if zipped will have 82mb) The said my folder contains only *all *exe files generated in cygwin + *all* Cygin. dll files - to avoid confusion.. it would be help to inform what error displayed before crashed?
