I realize that this was last spoken about in 2017
<https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tesseract/issues/1074> but is there any
new news/ideas about this?

I'd like to be able to recognize bold text and have only just finished fine
tuning my tesseract 4.0 to recognize some specific unicode characters.

The problem is that some of them are bold and some are not and my code
needs to differentiate between them.

Is there any way I can do this or would i need to fine tune again using the
old tessdata <https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tessdata> ?

Also, how would I go about fine tuning with the old tessdata?
since it can not be used when using the guide
<https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tesseract/wiki/TrainingTesseract-4.00#fine-tuning-for--a-few-characters>
?

Any help will be appreciated.
