In our environment, we have many existing CGIs and we tend to develop
new things in CGI first. If necessary, we then convert to mod_perl.
My intention is to try to create some tools that will allow people to
test an Apache::Registry script to verify that it is "mod_perl safe".
I know I probably won't be able to create an absolute test suite, but
I thought I'd try to automate some of the things I saw people doing
manually.
For the memory test, we had people basically following the advice here:
http://perl.apache.org/docs/1.0/guide/
performance.html#Measuring_the_Memory_of_the_Process
but doing it manually. I thought maybe I could automate it. I
actually had something running already before I read that section and
was surprised how close it was to the snippets there.
