Not true for a long time. When you create mount points, set to device type LVM, they become LVs. In anaconda 18.37.8 (probably 7 also, maybe 6, not sure when it appeared), you can use unallocated PE's in VGs. Again all you have to do is create a mount point, and anaconda automatically uses space from the existing VG.
