Hey folks! Since Fedora 43 has been released for the primary architectures, some of you might be wondering how things are going with RISC-V. The short answer is: it’s still cooking — the images will be out soon. In the meantime, here’s a quick update:
What’s the current status? -------------------------- We’ve completed about two-thirds of the F43 mass rebuild — the final third is underway. This is a rough approximation, and the numbers continue to change as we make progress. Some images are available for testing (see the next section). However, several board-specific images are still in progress (e.g., SiFive HiFive Premier P550, boards based on SpacemiT cores, et al.). What’s currently available? --------------------------- As of now, we have enough progress to provide some images for testing with QEMU on x86 hardware, or on select RISC-V boards such as the StarFive VisionFive 2, SiFive HiFive Unleashed, and Unmatched, as well as in containers. Details and URLs to images are in the Fedora Discussion post: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/interim-update-on-fedora-43-risc-v-images/170955 We appreciate any testing of the above images. Please report any issues here in this thread, in the above post, or in the Fedora RISC-V Matrix channel.
