Hello Fedora QA Team,
My name is Xincheng Zhang (FAS: xczdev), and I’m a QA and DevOps
Engineer based in Paris. I have 7.5 years of experience in software
qualification, specifically in E2E/API testing and CI/CD automation.
I am eager to contribute to the Fedora community to deepen my Linux
knowledge and gain experience in open-source workflows.
Technical Background:
-
QA Expertise: Senior level in End-to-End (E2E) and API testing using Java.
-
Linux Experience (User/Deployment level): I am comfortable using
RHEL environments to deploy and host applications.
-
I use standard commands for system process monitoring and basic
troubleshooting.
-
Writing Shell scripts for task automation.
-
Building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitLab CI.
-
Currently working with Terraform (IaC) for cloud development.
My Goals:
I am a long-time user of RHEL-based systems, but I want to transition
from a "user" to a "contributor." I joined Fedora to learn the
internal workflows of an open-source project and to develop my skills
in Linux OS testing.
I just ordered a dedicated laptop for Linux and have begun reading the
Fedora QA Wiki. Since I work full-time during the week, I am looking
for ways to participate effectively on a part-time basis.
I would love to connect with anyone who can guide me toward a
"beginner-friendly" task or help me understand the best frequency for
a part-time contributor to engage.
Best regards,
Xincheng
