We've got an interim release (8.2.1, which is very tiny - mostly bugfixes) coming up, and we now have a test plan for it.
See http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Test_cases_8.2.1 which has been linked to from the ECO* and lists both test cases and (not-yet-existent) results. This is a first draft and subject to change, and no immediate action is required on it (mainly because we don't have a build to test yet) but this is just a heads-up for all those involved + anyone who's curious. My personal goal is to make the 8.2.1 test plan as doable and executable by the community as possible - in other words, there shouldn't be any test case a random person with the necessary equipment can't sit down, read, and just /do/; there should be nothing special about me as an OLPC employee in 1cc that makes me more capable of running a test than J. Random Tester out in Fooville. (I realize it's far from that ideal at the moment, and that we might not get there, but it's a good thing to aim at.) If you want to add another test case, see http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Creating_new_test_cases (which I also just created by splitting the 8.2.0 page, leaving only 8.2.0-specific stuff there). Any test case with the 8.2.1 "Build stream" checkbox checked will appear in this list. Please holler with changes, suggestions, feedback, and the like; I plan on going through this once more tomorrow after 8am and making sure the test plan matches up with the ECO.
