Updates & fixed "Test Cases" wiki links below!
/Testers: read Tuesday's 00:01am EDT call summarized Inline Below --
grand summary including new build announcements!/
High-Level Status: our Sri Lankan testing team is now getting started
after solid basic training this past week, familiarizing themselves
with wikis, bug trackers, the difference between XO-1 and XO-1.5 and
their builds etc -- and now reading
http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Human_Interface_Guidelines . The great
news is they will also be testing the 6 XO-1's and 6 XO-1.5's with
their own children at home, with 13 USB-to-Ethernet adapters now in
Virtusa's hands. Their Assignment: James and Holt of OLPC request
much more live questioning (don't be shy!!) this coming week, as
reflashing and testing begin in earnest, asking in both these places here:
[email protected]
[ http://forum.laptop.org/chat ] (#olpc-help, and possibly later
at #olpc-test)
3 great explanatory links inlined below-- thanks to James Cameron.

From: Steven M. Parrish <[email protected]>
Good news we got the final issues resolved. You can find a new build for the
XO-1 here. http://people.sugarlabs.org/~smparrish/
You need to place the os12.crc and os12.img files on a USB stick. You will
need unlocked XO's to use these builds. Go into OFW and at the OK prompt
issue the following command. copy-nand u:\os12.img when the copy is
completed just reboot and you will be running the new image.
Any questions just ask. I am usually hanging out in #sugar
Steven
Keep testing os12 exactly as Steven says!
*6 XO-1.5's (2 C1's + 4 C2's)* will install os111:
http://build.laptop.org/10.2.0/
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/F11_for_1.5
Please test Build 113 announced here:
http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/devel/2010-March/027788.html
NEW Build 114:
http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/devel/2010-March/027806.html
XO-1.5's should not require Developer Keys as XO-1's above.
Study these very brief Activity descriptions to help your Activity
testing:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Activities/G1G1/10.2
/ Check for the latest build at the above sites, or ask at
http://forum.laptop.org/chat !
/ USB memory sticks will be necessary but Developer Keys
hopefully won't:

2. Sri Lankan teams members should each, on their first day:
a) subscribe to [email protected] and please introduce
yourself if possible:
http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/testing

http://bug.sugarlabs.org
c) create separate Gmail or Yahoo email accounts if you want to
protect your privacy above, use a Nickname so you're not shy about
participating!
d) register at http://wiki.laptop.org and edit a Wiki page
like: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/User:Tabitha
e) say hello and ask 1 serious question daily over Live Chat
(IRC) at: http://forum.laptop.org/chat (never hesitate to ask --
freenode's #olpc-help is designed for this !)
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Communication_channels
3. Sri Lankan team members should spend 1 day in their 1st week
thinking about being a kid (or teacher in a very poor country)

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/1_hour_smoke_test
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Smoke_test
4. Sri Lankan team will work with Tabitha/NZ/Aussies to
edit/publish Test Cases they believe will help Kids & Teachers, of
the form:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Test_cases_8.2.0
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Test_cases_8.2.1
Both above links now fixed -- James Cameron can now help provide a
sample test case for 10.2.0 below:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Test_cases_8.2.2
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/F11_for_XO-1#How_to_help_test
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Test_cases_10.2.0

may take a day or so -- check back then!
4. Tabitha will explain How To Write a "TRAC" bug/report on
http://dev.laptop.org or http://bugs.sugarlabs.org :
a) XO-type
b) Build number
c) status/topology of network:
Ad Hoc/Mesh/Config/Topology -- lots of network testing possible
on XO-1 w/o WAP ("create a new wireless network" on XO-1.5)
BenS observes: wireless testing often not reproducible But
That's OK!
Tabitha has now provided this:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Activity_testing_template#The_NZ_activity_test
5. Ben Schwartz will help Tabitha's written guide / TRAC-filing
template, providing tips to:

http://dev.laptop.org or http://bugs.sugarlabs.org
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Attaching_Sugar_logs_to_tickets

for details of tickets waiting for testing, work with developers
through the ticket or [email protected] mailing list:
http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/devel
