The reason I ask this is that without any user action, XO-1 and XO-1.5 laptops do not automatically connect. XO-1 and XO-1.5 laptops may be connected through a wireless access point. Is this how they are connected? You select this method by clicking on the icon for the wireless access point in the Neighbourhood View. They may also be connected through a wired ethernet switch. Is this how they are connected? You select this method by inserting an ethernet cable via a USB adaptor. XO-1 mesh network cannot be used by XO-1.5 laptops. Although the XO-1.5 laptops detect the mesh network, they cannot join it. You select this method on XO-1 by clicking on the icon for the mesh network channel in the Neighbourhood View. XO-1.5 ad-hoc network cannot be used by XO-1 laptops. The XO-1 laptops do not detect the ad-hoc network. You select this method by right-click on network icon in Frame. > Does the icon for the other laptop appear in the Neighbourhood View? If the icon does not appear, then the laptops do not share any network connection, and activity sharing (such as Chat) will not work. -- James Cameron http://quozl.linux.org.au/ _______________________________________________ Testing mailing list [email protected] http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/testing
