SNIP Transaction Testing Sub Work Group Meeting Minutes February 28, 2002 Conference # (703) 736-7290 Pass Code 1315339 Minutes: Technical Test Scenarios: It was decided that the dental and institutional scenarios would be sent to Claredi (Kepa, Linda Michaelson, Jeff Compass) even though they were not 100% complete. Kepa discussed the Claredi process in creating the data sets. With the receipt of the spreadsheet a file is created which is then run against a "base file". This many times produces a file with "holes", a scenario where the base file did not contain the corresponding segment. It was recommended that as these scenarios were used to create that test files with "holes" that the files be placed on the website, where the SWG could supply the missing base file information, completing the test set. Kepa will email the SWG some examples, which we can then discuss at the next meeting. Business Test Scenarios: Kepa also explained the process used for these supplied scenarios. Once received Claredi staff manually builds a test set to meet the scenario described. This is a very time consuming process as many times the Claredi staff must get additionally information to build a complete test set. It was requested that when a business scenario is sent to Claredi it also include a file with at lease one example of a sample transaction (e.g. hospice interim claim). After further discussion it was decided that the March payer forum would be an excellent opportunity to determine if payers would be able to provide Claredi test examples to expedite the process. Kepa and Sue will present the topic at the forum. Cynthia discussed the concern that code sets not part of the IG were not addressed by the test sets. Kepa presented that not all test conditions could feasibly be addressed, and referenced the "12 criteria" decided upon by the SWG as the scenarios first being developed. Marcia Solomon had emailed the group the criteria some weeks ago. Webcast: The webcast is scheduled for 02/28/02, 2-3:30 EST. March Quarterly SNIP Form: The panel discussion to be presented by Sue, John, and Cynthia was all set. Their presentations had been emailed to WEDI and they would be meeting Friday to finalize. Issues Database: Issues #143 and #144 were submitted to Testing. After reviewing the issues the recommendation will read that test data sets developed by WEDI SNIP are available on the Claredi website, under "Free Stuff." It was also decided that Cynthia would discuss the ability to link from WEDI SNIP to the test data sets from their website with the Education work group. She will also discuss how the data sets can be "advertised" and report the results at our next meeting. Miscellaneous: Kepa noted that the WEDI SNIP data sets were confusing to some of Claredi’s customers and the site description might change. He would review the changes with the SWG.
