Minutes from the Testing SWG Meeting held Thursday, April 11, 2002 Technical and Business Scenario Updates - Mark Charles indicated he would complete his assigned Institutional technical scenarios within the next week or so and would be able to volunteer to help finish up the institutional effort. John Lilleston said he would ask Susan Fritz if she could help with the dental scenarios. Once they are completed, they will be sent on to Claredi. That will probably be the end of the effort to develop scenarios from scratch by the SWG.
Submission of New Test Data - A long discussion took place on this subject matter. The group thought we should try to request only GOOD data from volunteers. We thought it would be best if the data had previously been validated as HIPAA compliant. Sue is going to talk with Kristin Becker to see if the SNIP web site support people would be willing to help us on this and what amount of effort it would be for the group. Also, if Kristin agrees, a small work group will be formed to take this effort forward. There will be both public and private information requested on the template that we ask each data submitter to complete. Only the public information will be viewable by the general user. Private information will be used by those reviewing the data prior to it being posted on the SNIP site. A disclaimer will also most likely be developed for the web page releasing WEDI SNIP of all responsibility and liability for the data that is present there. White Paper Appendix - Mark McLaughlin indicated to John that the appendix idea needed to be approved both by the WEDI steering committee and the board. We have not yet heard their decision. However, John will contact Mark to see if he think it is a good idea to go ahead and update the white paper with the new information we have while the decision is being made. Issues Database - John indicated that both issues assigned to the Testing SWG had been updated on the internet with our response and will be reviewed in the next co-chair meeting. Press Release for Test Data Sets - John has contacted Joan Boyle to get the information for the SNIP SYNPOSIS newsletter. Ed Hafner agreed to assist with the press release wording. Sue Ryder will also contact Kristin to see if Jim Schuping will be willing to include the press release in the WEDI bulletin he distributed. Testing Webcast - John asked for input on the value of the Testing webcast. Most within the group thought that a lot of the information was repetitive for them. However, it was probably very valuable for people less educated in HIPAA and the testing process. It was suggested that we begin to classify some of our webcasts (beginners, intermediate, etc...etc..similar to college courses - maybe even suggest some pre-requisites for the webcast). John Lilleston will forward this information to Kristin for her consideration. Purpose of SWG - Sue Ryder and John Lilleston had a discussion because of concern of decreasing participation in our SWG. They thought that it might be a good idea to begin to shift the direction of the group into more of a discussion of real testing issues that people were encountering and use the group as a sounding board as to suggestions on how to correct or get around them. The group thought this was a good idea. The next meetings will begin to be broken up into 3 main parts - 1) Completion of the method to submit data sets to SNIP via the web 2) Testing Issues discussion 3) Housekeeping/White Paper issues. Miscellaneous - Mark Charles indicated that he wanted to have an informal testing meeting/discussion at the CMS MMIS Conference to be held in Baltimore April 22-25th. Anyone interested in this please contact him at [EMAIL PROTECTED] He will advertise the time of the discussion at the conference. The next meeting will be held Thursday, April 25th at 11 a. m. eastern time. The call in number is 703-736-7290 pass code 1315339.
