Hello,

I just installed teTeX-1.0.7 and teTeX-texmf-1.0.1. To make sure all works
well I tried some important documents (the old dirtree is just backed up ;-))
and by making a postscript from some dvi that uses a personal mf-font I found
the following:

> dvips -Ppdf best-tempus-1299.dvi

This is dvips(k) 5.86 Copyright 1999 Radical Eye Software (www.radicaleye.com)
' TeX output 2000.03.04:1607' -> best-tempus-1299.ps
kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode cx --bdpi 8000 --mag 1+0/8000 --dpi 8000 tele
fon
mktexpk: Mismatched mode cx and resolution 8000; ignoring mode.
mktexpk: Can't guess mode for 8000 dpi devices.
mktexpk: Use a config file, or update me.
kpathsea: Appending font creation commands to missfont.log.
dvips: Font telefon at 8000 not found; scaling 600 instead.

and config.pdf has

% Default resolution. Attempt to make `resolution independent'.
% Resolution set to 8000dpi (could be as high as 10000).

D 8000
...
% Last resort sizes.
% If you accidentally include a bitmapped pk font, it will probably go
% at 600dpi.

R 300 600

I understand the "R" as follows: for genereating fonts use only resolutions
300 or 600 whatever suites best.

I am not sure but with the former installation (tetex-1.0.5, tetex-texmf-1.0) I
didn't noticed this behaviour.
