dvips abort

Hi,

I=B4ve generated my own tetex 1.0 binaries for Linux Redhat 6 (kernel
2.2.5-22). All is perfect :-)
Unfortunately, I want to use these binaries at a SuSE Linux 6 too. In
this case, the dvips crashes with:
        dvips: xputenv.c:79: xputenv: Assertion `old_item' failed.
        Aborted
I think, this happens in case of dynamic font generation, perhaps during
handling the user's environment. The debug protocol of dvips doesn't
help.
Any ideas to solve the problem?
