Hi all,
I've got a (hopefully silly) question. I'm using teTeX-1.0 (patchlevel 2),
build from the sources using gcc 2.7.2.3 and corresponding environment on
a HPUX 10.20 machine. Also installed is gs6.00. While everything works
very well, generation of pk files for postscript fonts (like ptmr or
whatever) fails permanently. psfonts.map is generated including a
customized map for some fonts used at our site. dvips works ok with the
document, and ghostscript shows a dvips-generated output (including the
fonts) fine. Nevertheless xdvi fails (since it needs pk fonts ...)
Is there any known reason for that? All actions are perfectly ok, when
done on a Linux machine (SuSE 6.x and 7.0) with standard installation from
SuSE and with custom build installation from the sources. So I suspect an
OS dependency. Any comments?

So it looks like gs can not cope with the given fonts. But since I'm not a
postscript/ghostscript guru, I'm not able to see, what the hell those
lines are trying to tell me ... I tried using gs4.03, gs5.0, gs5.5 with
slightly different, but nevertheless unsuccessful outcoming.
