hi all, i hope this is the right forum to ask this question.
i'm trying to get decent output from ps2pdf, (that is, i want it to use type1 fonts) but haven't been lucky yet... i use teTeX 1.0.7 that comes with Slackware 8.0. i upgraded gs grom 5.50 to 6.51, since last time i had this problem, it turned out gs 5.50 was too old. but this time, that does not seem to be it. when i run `dvips -Ppdf thesis.dvi', i get a .ps file, and the output from dvips shows a number of .pfb fonts. then i run ps2pdf on the .ps file, but the resulting .pdf file has horrible fonts. does anyone have an idea what could be wrong or where i could look to find out? i'd appreciate any tips.
