Yes, I didn't make it quite clear that I only needed this special
construction when the caesura was at the end of a bar (or input block?
Can't remember...).  When the caesura is in the middle of a bar, it
worked directly.  The heart of the problem seemed to be that the TeX
command gets completely dropped if there's no following note in the
same input line.  If you were to dive into pmx because of this, I
would suggest the immediate correction would be to make sure that
every TeX string from the pmx source ends up in the tex file
somewhere, possibly right before the bar line if there's no `next'
note in the same music line.
