PMX is perfectly capable of polyphony. You can enter two "lines of music" per
staff, separated by "//". I haven't had a use for NoteEdit so I'm not familiar
with its requirements and limitations. If it is to act as some sort of filter for
PMX then it needs to recognize PMX syntax.

In retrospect, my choice of the term "voice" to refer to all the stuff on one
staff was unfortunate. That's why now I try to avoid using the term at all; I
speak of staves (singular staff) and "lines of music."
