Hello,
I need to typeset several pieces of music, some of which are the melody for
singing psalms. Since the numbers of lines per verse and the number of
syllables per line varies, some notes have vertical bars around them (like
the absolute value sign in mathematics, but I don't know what they are
called in music - I'm an amteur in this field) and others are in
parentheses - both symbols indicate how to adapt the melody to the varying
length of the text. The following ASCII-symbols try to indicate what I want
to obtain:

I'm an experienced user of LaTeX but I have never worked with musixtex
before. According to the documentation, it seems possible to add parentheses
to notes, but I didn't find a similar command for vertical bars. Is it still
possible to do this in (vertical bars for single notes as well as chords)?
