Prepmx validates 'rp' in such a way that it is considered an error for
some durations of 'measures' in unbarred music. You may, however, bypass
the error by applying the prepmx command line option -i or adding it to
an Options clause in the prepmx preamble:

Options: i

This will force prepmx to write the rest pause to the resulting pmx
file.
