I have been using MusicTex 5.20 to set a variety of instrumental
music, but have lately been trying to adapt it for drum scores. The
scores I'm trying to write have a single line for the staff, which
causes several problems:

1) The time signature is placed above the staff. In the tradition
for which this is being scored, it should be centered around the
single-line staff. This is annoying but not serious.

2) Similarly, certain notation such as the double dot repeat symbol
also print above the single-line staff rather than being centered
about the staff line. Again, I can probably live with this but it is
annoying.

3) The big problem is that none of the bar lines show up! The
MusicTex macros appear to draw this from the bottom line of
the staff to the top, I need the bar lines (both single and double
bars) to extend above and below the staff some distance (exact
amount is not critical).

I've tried rewriting the relevant MusicTex macros without success.
Although I've been able to use the MusicTex macros fairly well, I
don't think I know enough about the design of MusicTex to figure
out how to do this without considerable effort. Does anyone have
any ideas how this should be done?

Bruce
