That's why you should follow the directory structure listed below. It doesn't matter what directory name you use for <supplier>. > That said, I don't particularly remember having to specially install the > fonts when I installed MusiXTeX. Probably they either came with my TeX > distribution or were all generated automatically on the fly. The only important font files you need are the *.mf files which should be placed somewhere below $TEXMF/fonts/source/. All the other font files are generated automatically on the fly. Well, there's one other exception, namely the Type1 font files, which can be found through http://icking-music-archive.sunsite.dk/software/indexmt6.html /Mats > > > .sty, .cls or .fd: $TEXMF/tex/latex/<package>/ > > > .dvi, .ps or .pdf: $TEXMF/doc/latex/<package>/ > > > .tfm: $TEXMF/fonts/tfm/<supplier>/<font>/ > > > .vf: $TEXMF/fonts/vf/<supplier>/<font>/ > > > .afm: $TEXMF/fonts/afm/<supplier>/<font>/ > > > .pfb: $TEXMF/fonts/type1/<supplier>/<font>/ > > > .ttf: $TEXMF/fonts/truetype/<supplier>/<font>/ > > > > First of all: "musictex" is an old version of "musixtex".
