I'm not sure I understand this. Are the latest Ghostcript apps included in the MiKTeX distribution? If so, are the latest version numbers higher than Ghostscript 6.01 /GSView 3.3? That's what I've been using for over a year, and those are the program versions that are still on my computer. At any rate, Windows certainly knows where Ghostscript/GSView are, if the fact that I can start them both from the Start menu is any indication.
