Hi Stanislav,

I'd like to do an rpm package of pmx. As I tried to
create the examples I noticed a missing musixps input
file. I found it on the icking archive and downloaded
it. No problem using it, but I'd like to make either
a own rpm package of it or distribute it with pmx if
possible.

According to the readme the license is not compatible
with (L)GPL and/or BSD, so I cannot upload it anywhere
(except the icking archive) for redistribution.

My favoured distribution has an archive of contributed
binaries which is available to anyone for download
(including the sources). The most picked or wished
packages from there are distributed (sold) on an
extra CD. For that reason the distribution requires
the license of each package to be GPL or BSD-compatible.
(they also sometimes add patches to the packages to
fix problems and try to submit the patches back to the
author).

With the current license of musixps I cannot include
two of the four ready to be viewed examples of pmx,
without patching them to not use musixps.

If I make a package of musixps I'll integrate the
two zip files and the readme into a new archive
called musixps-%{version}.tar.bz2. This archive
will be part of the src.rpm package which I'd like
to redistribute from the above mentioned contrib
archive (and of course the icking music archive).

I hope you understand my problem with the license.
You can find informations about the GPL and other
licenses on
http://www.freeworldlicence.org/other_licences.shtml

Also it would be good to use include a seperate
license file in the musixps package.

With best regards,
