Someone recently posted a message to the TeX-music list promoting a karaoke
mailing list. This posting was inappropriate for two reasons: first, it has
nothing to do with music typesetting, and second, it is obviously part of a
not-so-stealthy advertising campaign for a commercial concern. Because our
list is not moderated, we cannot stop such postings from appearing once, but all future postings from the offending domain will be diverted for review by the list manager.
Fortunately, such transgressions have been virtually non-existent in the past. List members have been very conscientious in adhering to the purpose of the list, as stated on the TeX-music web page: "This list gathers all people interested in talking about TeX-based system[s] and preprocessors which let people write music: examples are MusiXTeX, and the preprocessors PMX, M-Tx." We hope that this was an isolated incident.
On behalf of the Werner Icking Archive editors: Don Simons, Jean-Pierre Coulon, Maurizio Codogno and yours sincerely
