I guess the interest in interchange standards is rising. The MPEG group have also announced a startup effort, though I haven't joined.
I've an XML background, and with the high number of tools it makes a good interchange format, hence my interest in the Oasis effort. http://xml.coverpages.org/ni2003-11-04-a.html provides some background. I'll dig out the mpeg uri. regards DaveP
