Hello Don,

Thank you for your consideration on this topic. This probrem can
be avoided by taking care of writing the input, so I think urgent fix
will not be required.

I have never seen a score with "dots-only-shifted" rests with my
little experiments. If possible, in following example:

--------------------
1 -1 1 4 4 4 4 0.00000 0 1 1 20 0

0
./
r2 r4d r8 // r2b c45d c85 /

r2 r4d r8 // r2b b44d b84 /

r2 r4-4d r8-4 // r2b c45d c85 /

r2 r4-5d r8-5 // r2b b44d b84 /
--------------------

in bar 4 the dot touches to the line. In this case someone may want
to shift the dot only, but I think this should be coded as "r4-6d"
at PMX level.
If one want to shift the dot by any means, one can do it by just
redefining \qpp and so on. In fact there is another \qpp definition:
\def\qpp{\pt2\soupir} in musixexp.tex by Michio Moriwaki.

So I think it's not necessary for PMX to consider "dot-only-shifted
rest" at result.

Best regards,
