It turns out that I hadn't added TEXMFLOCAL to the TEXMF tree in the config
file. However, adding it hasn't solved my problem! Yes, I've run mktexlsr,
and it says it's searched both directory trees (they are /usr/share/texmf
and /usr/local/share/texmf), but still the same error: Environment music
undefined.
I don't seem to have any TeX environment variables.... At least env doesn't
tell me about them if they're there. I shouldn't need to do anything else,
because removing TEXMFMAIN from TEXMF demonstrates that the config file is
being accessed, since I can't run LaTeX at all when I do that.
Any other ideas? I'll hammer away a bit more on this, then just put all the
MusiXTeX files in with the rest, instead of having the local texmf tree, if
nothing comes of it.
Thanks,
Murray-Luke
