Dear Bodo,
It's a good idea to redefine the macro \lyrstrutbox. The problem is that
you increase only the height and decrease the depth to 0. You can get a
better result if you correct two things:
1) use this definition of \lyrstrutbox:
%%\def\setlyrstrut{\setbox0=\hbox{()}%
%%\setbox\lyrstrutbox=\hbox{\vrule height 1.3\ht0 depth 1.3\dp0 width
0pt}}
2) add the command \setlyrstrut after the main change of font:
%%\twelverm\setlyrstrut
It seems to me that with these corrections your score looks nice.
