Dear all.

Jean-Pierre Coulon has asked to suppress the links to his email address in
the Icking Archive web pages and replace them by links to an image format
(.png) table of email addresses which efficiently prevents spammers from
collecting the address. Click the email icon button at Jean-Pierre's name
near the bottom of the Icking Archive front page to see how this works.

If any of you want to have your email address presented that way in the
Icking Archive web pages please let me know. Please notice that web guests
wanting to contact you will have to look up your address and enter it
'manually' into their mailer.

One year later, I can say that the amount of spams and viruses I receive every day have dropped by a factor of about 2.

For viruses, I'll have to wait till all infected guys who have my address somewhere on their computer have thrown this computer through the window :-)
And I assume spammers prefer recent lists of harvested addresses.

An obscure question remains: are pdf documents safe from address harvesting, since Google sees their text perfectly ? The excellent image form of my address present in the English PMX tutorial since last fall seems slooow to make its way to the various translations of this tutorial :-)

Incidentally, this line reveals my address in TeX and in LaTeX:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hope this will be useful,
